Distinguished guests, Friends from the media, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Good Morning.

It’s my great pleasure to be here today witnessing the official opening ceremony of 2023 Huawei Seeds for the Future in Namibia.

I wish to express my support for this flagship program of Huawei aimed at training ICT talents all over the world and in Namibia particularly.

I am deeply impressed with the great importance Namibia has attached to the development of its ICT sector, as vividly demonstrated by the kind attendance of Honorable Minister Dr. Mushelenga at this event.

ICT has changed our lives and will impact our future even more profoundly . We shall never stop learning, and by learning more, we will not only further progress as individuals, but also as nations.

I congratulate all the participants of the Seeds for the Future. I hope and believe you will benefit from this program.

I commend Huawei for its consistent efforts in nurturing more ICT seeds for the future around the world. My only suggestion to Managing Director Mr. Zhang is that please do more here in Namibia and let this program benefit more Namibian people.

The Chinese Government always encourages the Chinese companies to care more about the benefits of the general public of the countries where they have business presence.   

I hope all the Chinese companies in Namibia will do more to contribute to Namibia’s social and economic development.

I also wish to thank Vice Chancellor Dr Naomab for opening the beautiful campus to us today. It’s my first visit to the NUST and I look forward to many more visits in future.
