On December 8, Ambassador Zhao Weiping hosted a Reception in Honor of the Association for Namibia-China Alumni (ANCA), which was attended by close to 100 members of ANCA, staff of the Chinese Embassy, and representatives of the Chinese community. At the reception, Mr. Rodney Sikopo, the incumbent Chairperson of ANCA retired from his chairmanship, and an Interim Steering Committee chaired by Professor Nailoke Pauline Kadhila was set up.

In his remarks, Amb. Zhao congratulated ANCA on the resumption of its activities after the COVID-19 pandemic, and said that the Chinese Embassy will provide full support for ANCA in various ways. He believed that under the leadership of the Interim Steering Committee and with the joint efforts of all members, ANCA will play a big role in enhancing the mutual understanding and friendship between China and Namibia.

At the reception, some Chinese enterprises released recruitment information, and some Embassy staff, ANCA members and a local jazz band presented wonderful cultural performances.
