H.E. Mr. Zhang Yiming, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Namibia Presents the Letter of Credence to H.E. Dr. Hage Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia

H.E. Mr. Zhang Yiming, Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Namibia Presented the Letter of Credence to H.E. Dr. Hage Geingob, President of the Republic of Namibia at State House on 10 August 2017. Political Councilor Mr. Li Nan, Commercial Councilor Mr. Liu Huabo, Military Attaché Mr. Peng Xiaodong, Hon. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation (MIRCO), Mr. Samuel H /Gôagoseb, Permanent Secretary of the State House, Amb. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Permanent Secretary of MIRCO were at the presentation ceremony.

H.E. Mr. Zhang presented the Letter of Credence signed by H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of China to H.E. Dr. Hage Geingob and then held friendly talks. H.E. Mr. Zhang firstly conveyed the best regards from President Xi Jinping. He highlighted the point that China and Namibia are “all-weather” friends, brothers and partners. It is a great honor for him to revisit the Land of Brave and Namibian side’s special arrangements for his arrival and the presentation of Credence are highly appreciated. He also expressed the willingness to make joint efforts with the Namibian side, to promote bilateral relations and pragmatic cooperation to a new level.

President Geingob firstly appreciated the greetings and the birthday congratulation message from H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping and welcomed H.E. Mr. Zhang as the new Chinese Ambassador. He emphasized that the two peoples had enjoyed traditional friendship, and the bilateral cooperation had made steady progress. He was optimistic about the potentials and prospective of the cordial relationship. President Geingob promised that the Namibian side was always ready to work closely with China to boost the long-lasting friendship. He wished H.E. Mr. Zhang a great success with his work and expected to witness milestone achievements during his tenure.

After the meeting, H.E. Mr. Zhang signed on the Visitor’s Book of the State House and answered media questions.
