President Hu Jintao Sends Message of Congratulations to Pohamba on His Election as Namibian President

On November 21, after the result of Namibia presidential election was announced, Chinese President Hu Jintao sent a message of congratulations to Hifikepunye Pohamba on his election as Namibian President.

In his message, President Hu Jintao said "Delighted to learn that you have been elected President of the Republic of Namibia, I have the honor, on behalf of the Government and People of the People's Republic of China, and in my own name, to extend to you my sincere congratulations and good wishes.  I am convinced that under your leadership, Namibia will continue to maintain national unity, social stability and economic development." "There has been a deep fraternal friendship between the two peoples of China and Namibia. We are satisfied to note that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Namibia fourteen years ago, the relations between the two countries have been developing smoothly, and the cooperation in various fields has been very fruitful. I am looking forward to working with you, for the benefits of the two peoples, to further strengthen the relations of friendly cooperation between the two countries." "I wish you a great success in your lofty mission."
