2005/03/22

On March 22, 2005, H. E. Mr. Li Zhaoxing, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, and Hon. Mr. Marco Hausiku, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Namibia, exchanged the message and the letter of congratulations to each other, in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Mr. Li said, during the past 15 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Namibia, our friendship has been growing steadily and the friendly cooperation has been deepening from strength to strength. I would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm that the Chinese side will, as always, cherish the traditional friendship and cooperation with Namibia, and continue to make joint efforts with the Namibian side in promoting the mutual beneficial and comprehensive cooperative partnership to a new high.

Mr. Hausiku said, since the establishment of our diplomatic relations on 22nd March 1990, just one day after Namibia's independence on 21st March 1990, our two countries continue enjoying excellent bilateral relations in all fields of mutual benefit. It is my desire to consolidate the already excellent bonds of friendship and bilateral relations that exist between our two peoples and countries.
