Chinese Edition of Namibian President's Autobiography Issued
2004/07/20

BEIJING, July 20 (Xinhuanet) -- The Chinese edition of Namibian President Sam Nujoma's autobiography was launched here Tuesday.

The book titled "Where Others Wavered" gives an authentic picture of Nujoma's charisma and Namibia's struggle for national independence.

Nujoma said at the launching ceremony that the Chinese edition reflects good Namibia-China relations.

"The Chinese people can have an insight into Africa as well as Namibia by reading the president's autobiography", said Xu Jialu, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress.

Nujoma is now in the middle of his twelfth visit to China. Besides Beijing, the president's China tour will also take him to northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and China's financial hub, Shanghai.

China and Namibia established diplomatic relations in 1990. The trade volume between the two countries reached 74.57 million US dollars in 2003, up 52 percent compared with 2002.
