Senior Chinese military official leaves for three-nation trip

BEIJING, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Chen Bingde, chief of the General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China, left Beijing Friday on an official good-will visit to Namibia, Angola and Tanzania.

Chen is expected to meet with government and military officials of the three countries and exchange views with them on issues of mutual interest, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Defense Ministry said in a press release.
